Vijayawada: Several students have drawn inspiration to pursue Space science after watching the live telecast of the Chandrayaan Mission-3 landing on the Moon on Wednesday.

Many students said they are curious to know about the hitherto unexplored parts of Moon. “We are expecting to get more information from now,” they said.

The AP government issued directions to the school education department for convening a special assembly of students and teachers at all schools from 5.30pm to 6.30pm to enable the students watch the live streaming of Chandrayaan-3’s landing on the moon. Accordingly, a good number of schools arranged this programme.

The education authorities have also taken out rallies with the students holding placards on how India is making successful strides in its Space mission.

A Class X student from Zilla Parishad High School at Nagayalanka in Krishna district, Venkata Lipsika, said, “It was a great experience to watch the live telecast. I am really proud of my country. While watching the moon-landing, I decided to become a Space scientist myself and contribute my share for my country in its future Space missions.”

As the state government introduced a series of reforms in the education sector and even providing online content by installing Interactive Flat Panels, these have come to the help of the students in some schools where the data received on the mobile phone was connected to FTPs to enable the students sit together in their classrooms and watched the live programme.

A Class X student from Puchalapalli Sundaraiah Municipal High School in Vijayawada, Bagya Lakshmi, said, “ISRO made India proud. After watching the live telecast of Chandrayaan-3 Mission, my curiosity about Space has gone up.”

Another Class X student from the same school, Priyanka, said, “We are expecting the Chandrayaan-3 to help us explore more on the South Pole surface of the moon to find out whether the prevailing atmosphere supports human life there, so that we can build houses there and live in future.”

State school education authorities roped in the physics teachers to give a brief idea about the Chandrayaan Missions 1, 2 and 3 so that students can understand the objectives of the three missions in a better way while watching the live telecast on Wednesday.

A Class X student from SKPVD Hindu High School in Vijayawada, Jayasree Haripriya said, “This inspires me to learn more about our Space missions.”

Another Class X student from the same school Praneetha Reddy said, “I am inspired to learn more about Space sciences and even want to pursue them now.”

A Class IX student from Nannaya High School in Rajamahendravaram, Sagar, said, “I feel very happy at the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and aim to become a Space scientist.”

A Class X student from the municipal girls’ high school in Rajamahendravaram, Prasanna Durga, said, “After watching live telecast of Chandrayaan-3, I realised the importance of exploring Space and doing something good for humanity. I too want to be a Space scientist.”
