BJP protest politically motivated: H D Deve Gowda

Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) president H.D. Deve Gowda said on Saturday that the BJP’s protest against his son and Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for his remark against that party was politically motivated. He was speaking to the media in Hassan ahead of the JD(S) Legislature Party meeting.

The former Prime Minister said that the BJP was using now using it as a tool to garner people’s support.  “I do not want to speak much about it,” Mr Gowda said. Stating that he had been observing BJP’s attempts to poach JD(S) MLAs for the last three months, he said the ‘Operation Lotus’ would not succeed.
