Clash over border claim at AP-Odisha border dispute

According to sources, some people belonging to Singipur attacked the residents of Champapur.

Bhubaneshwar: At least three persons were injured following a clash over the ongoing border dispute between residents of Champapur of Odisha and Singipur of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, reports said on Sunday.

According to sources, some people belonging to Singipur attacked the residents of Champapur. Three women sustained injuries in the attack.

Later, the locals of Champapur lodged a complaint at Garabandha police station in connection with the attack.

On the other hand, the villagers of Singipur also filed a counter complaint at Manjusa police station in Andhra Pradesh.

The residents of Andhra village allegedly put up red flag on the bordering area forcibly, triggering panic among the residents.

Following the incident, inspector-in-charge of Garabandha police station along with Kainpur revenue inspector visited the area. The officials measured the area and confirmed that the land belongs to Odisha.

However, the residents of both the villages demanded that the officials of both Odisha and Andhra jointly carry out measurement and demarcation of the land.
