Mindspace demolition videos go viral
The controlled demolitions, which harnessed cutting-edge technology, took place early in the morning
Hyderabad: Controlled demolition of buildings 7 and 8 at Raheja Mindspace IT park in Madhapur captured the imagination of the city public, with videos of the operation going viral on social media on Saturday.
The demolition was carried out by Edifice Engineering & Jet Demolition, the company that demolished 100-metre twin towers of 32 and 29 storeys in Noida of Uttar Pradesh, on a Supreme Court order.
The demolition at Mindspace was carried out as the developers sought to construct taller towers, with the inauguration planned for 2026.
Offices in the area were issued notices and asked to follow the safety precautions. From Friday night, the roads within the complex were also shut, with a strict ban on public movement.
Kasa Sai Akhil, an MNC employee, said, “This building was just two decades old and it has been razed. We all welcome the development of bigger tower.”
Elipay Bharathi, of Design Labbe, an architecture firm, said, “Hyderabad has become the city of best buildings. Recently, several of the city’s buildings received global awards. The optimum usage space and architectural values are being brought into the constructions.”
