Central team to tour ODF villages
The state government had declared 2,622 villages as ODF, inspections done by Central agencies had revealed that only 1,470 were eligible.
Hyderabad: Central teams will tour the districts in the state on October 23 to inspect villages which were declared as open-defecation free (ODF) and assess whether they comply with Swacch Bharat norms or not.

With each state following its own set of rules to declare ODF status for villages, towns, cities and districts under Swacchh Bharat programme, the Centre has decided to take up inspections on its own to assess the ODF-status to ensure uniformity in according the ODF-status.
The state government has declared four districts — Siddipet, Sircilla, Jagtial and Medchal — ODF and Nizamabad district is set to make it to the list soon. Barring Hyderabad district, all the other 30 districts come under the purview of “Swacchh Bharat Grameen” and eligible for Central funds.
Panchayat raj minister Jupally Krishna Rao said, “We are ready with all the details on how four districts and 2,622 villages in state are eligible for the ODF-tag as the target of constructing 100 per cent individual toilets has been achieved.”
