Kozhikode: Steel bumbs were hurled at the house of two CPM supporters near Valayam within an hour’s difference on Sunday night and in the wee hours of Monday. Two women have suffered injuries in the incident. The first incident occurred at the house of Kuniyil Babu at Kuttikad around 11.30 p.m. on Sunday. The second occurred at 2 a.m. on Monday, on the house of Maraamveetil Kumaran at Kuruvantheri road.

The two houses are separated by only a few kilometers. Kumaran’s daughter Vijina and relative Devi were injured in the melee. The auto rickshaw of a neighbour, who is a local Yuvamorcha leader, parked at the courtyard of Kumaran’s house was also vandalised.

According to Valayam Police sub-inspector, both Babu and Kumaran are not CPM workers but supporters only. Police is suspecting political motive in both the incidents. Cases have been registered at the police station.
