Hyderabad: Burglars involved in 12 cases held
He was last arrested on November 2017 by Kodigehalli Police of Bengaluru, said Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar.
Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone, and the Dabeerpura Police arrested a notorious interstate house burglar and his associate on Monday.
The two men were identified as Mohammed Sameer Khan alias Sameer Pathan alias Shoaib, 30, a resident of Errakunta, and his associate Mohammed Shoaib, 29, a driver from Old Malakpet, police said.
“Sameer is from Bengaluru and shifted to Hyderabad at the age of 18. He was jailed for the first time in 2008 by the SR Nagar Police in a cell phone theft case. He has been involved in over 12 house burglaries in Telangana state. He was last arrested on November 2017 by Kodigehalli Police of Bengaluru,” said Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar.
Mohammed Shoaib was arrested by the LB Nagar Police in 2013 and was lodged in Cherlapally, where he met Sameer Khan. Due to his poor vision Sameer committed offences only in the day.
“Sameer is tech-savvy and switches off his mobile phone to prevent leaving technical clues. He minimises contact as far as possible and restricts contact with his wife, associate, and receiver and frequently changes his residence, vehicle, mobile phone and SIM card,” Mr Kumar said. Shoaib waits outside on the bike while Sameer enters the house and finishes the theft in 5-10 minutes, he added. The two have committed two offences in Hyderabad, five in Kalaburagi, four in Bidar and one in AP.
