Hyderabad: More than 100 cases of fever got reported in various small hospitals in the city as people rushed in with severe body pain and viral fevers. Dr Ansih Anand, senior general physician at Apollo Hospitals explained, “There are different types of viruses which are circulating and with the wind movement there is movement of the virus from one place to another. The maximum cases are of simple fevers but those who continue to have high fever, cough, cold, headaches and vomiting are sent for testing.”
The treatment is symptomatic and it requires rest, sufficient water and balanced diet. According to sources in the health department, “Fever hospital is supposed to maintain the record of fevers but they are not displaying it since the last two years as there is a hue and cry raised. The data is generated to understand but due to an alarmist situation being created, the hospital is refraining from it. We to see a lot of cases come to the hospital after a long weekend.”
