Hyderabad: Three organs of brain-dead man donated to Jeevandan scheme

Hyderabad: Three organs of a 68-year-old government pensioner, Saija Prasad, were donated to the Jeevandan scheme of the government after he was declared brain dead due to sudden increase in blood pressure.
On November 18, Prasad collapsed and it was found that he had a major rise in the blood pressure which had caused a stroke. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but asked to be shifted to Global Hospital for treatment. He was kept on support for two days but didn’t respond to treatment. His wife Shanthakumari and sons S. Ramanna and S. Ajay Kumar were counselled and they agreed to donate the liver and corneas to the government scheme.
