ANANTAPUR: Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday praised the concept of service to mankind of Sathya Sai Baba who, he said, stood as a model to the world. He inaugurated the Sri Sathya Sai Archives, a state-of-the-art facility to preserve the messages of Sai Baba, in Prasanthi Nilayam as part of the 92nd birth anniversary.
The archives building was built with the help of German based Integrated Komis Organisation. It houses Sai Baba’s articles, letters to the devotees, 5.50 lakh films, 7,000 manuscripts, and thousands of pictures. Speaking at the evening session of the convocation day programmes at Saikulwanth Hall, the Vice-President said Prasanthi Nilayam stood for dedicated human services. “Baba’s call of ‘Love All- Serve All’ spread across the many counties,” he said.
Mr Naidu reiterated the need of such a facility so that for thousands of years the Baba’s message for humanity can be persevered. He said the Prasanthi Nilayam was modelled on the great traditions of India, and how it was the headquarters of spiritualism in the world. Earlier, I&PR minister Kalava Srinivsulu, Chief Whip Palle Raghunath Reddy, MPs J.C. Diwakar Reddy and Nimmala Kristappa along with district officials offered grand welcome to Mr Venkaiah Naidu at Puttaparthi airport.
