Graduate TRS candidate is inter pass now
The election affidavits filed by the TRS candidate show discrepancies in his educational qualifications.
Hyderabad: Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, TRS candidate for Malkajgiri is a graduate of Alabama University in the United States according to his 2009 and 2014 declarations. However his highest qualification has been whittled down to a mere Intermediate in 2018, according to his latest affidavit.
The election affidavits filed by the TRS candidate show discrepancies in his educational qualifications. In 2009, when contesting for the state legislature elections from the Medak assembly constituency, and in 2014 when he contested for the Malkajgiri parliamentary elections (but lost to Malla Reddy), the candidate mentioned that his highest qualification was being a graduate from Alabama University in the US.
He stated that he was a graduate in Business Administration and passed out in 1992.
But now, his latest affidavit (form - 26 ) under rule 4 A of the Representation of the People Act, filed for the 2018 elections, shows his education qualification to be Intermediate. The previous affidavits are available online on the Election Commission website It is apparently up to the candidate to list his or her highest level of qualification. However, it is perplexing why a person would reduce his or her qualification.
Mynampally Hanumanth Rao was unavailable for comment. He will contest against BJP city president Ramachadra Rao.
Both were earlier members of the legislative council from their respective parties. Mr Rao, a crorepati according to the assets he listed in his affidavit, is the owner of assets worth Rs 3.7 crore.
