It is advantage TRS as its candidates don't have to account for their expenditure before the poll notification is issued.

Hyderabad: A section of Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind is disappointed after supporting the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti for the Assembly elections in Telangana state.

The members are upset as they feel that there has not been proper analysis of the political situation. They alleged that the TRS was indirectly supporting the Centre on many issues and hence supporting the party perhaps was not the right thing to do.

Senior members of the Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind said that there was a clear indication in the behaviour of caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao that he had the support of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

“He has a soft corner for the BJP and will extend his support to them openly in future. The time has come to suppress communal forces. Those who have a soft corner for these communal forces should not be supported,” a member of this group said.

Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind member, Moizuddin Asif said, “The TRS government did not honour the promises pertaining to minorities in his first term. What is the guarantee that he will keep his promises in future? There is a strong feeling now that in the 2019 parliamentary elections, TRS will support the BJP.”

The Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind had earlier floated a political outfit, Welfare Party of India, but it failed to strengthen its base in Telangana state.

Head of the Telangana unit of the Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind, Maulana Hamid Mohammed Khan, had earlier announced that the organisation had decided to support the candidates of the TRS and the MIM in general, while it extended its support to the candidature of Congress candidate Mohd Ali Shabbir and WPI candidate Syed Riyazuddin in Kamareddy and Goshamahal.

He said the advisory council had taken into consideration the political scenario of the nation and the state, the comparative study of the performance of various governments during the last decade and an analysis of various election survey reports apart from conducting their own survey.
