100 personnel ready to count RK Nagar byelection votes

Chennai: With results of much-awaited RK Nagar by-election to be out on Sunday, elaborate arrangements had been made at the counting centre at Queen Mary’s college. Postal votes would be counted first if any service voters had cast their votes. Otherwise, EVM counting would start immediately, the election department said in press release. The counting would take place in 19 rounds and totally 100 counting personnel have been deployed in the process. Each counting table shall have one micro-observer apart from counting staff.
Meanwhile, the election department also announced restrictions on the premises of the counting centre. “Only counting supervisors, assistants, micro observer and other counting staff will be allowed inside the counting centres. Candidates, election agents and their counting agents also will be allowed,” the press release added.
