BENGALURU: Seeking the attention of the PM to bring a positive solution to the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) imbroglio, the staff of the varsity have written a letter to

Narendra Modi, demanding immediate intervention to the matter. The letter addressed to the PM and signed by assistant professors from 11 different departments and 35 members of the non-teaching staff reads, “Similar to issues of Mahadayi and Cauvery, the KSOU is also vital, finding traction with a large student community and the public and warrants immediate intervention."

At the same time, the students of the varsity have decided to stage a protest during the visits of the PM for BJP's Parivarthana Rally, scheduled to be held on Thursday and February 5 in Mysuru and Bengaluru, respectively.

Recently, the Karnataka High Court had ordered a notice to University Grants Commission (UGC) Secretary P.K Thakur for contempt of court, as the Commission failed to grant recognition to the varsity to begin non-technical in-house courses for the ongoing academic year.
