J Geetha Reddy says K Chandrashekar Rao must give berths to women in Cabinet

Hyderabad: The J. Eashwari Bai Memorial Award was presented to balladeer Gaddar during the centenary celebrations of the former president of the Republic Party of India at the Ravindra Bharathi here on Wednesday.

The programme was preceded by her daughter, former minister Dr J. Geetha Reddy, making a presentation on Eashwari Bai. Congress Lok Sabha leader Mallikarjun Kharge attended the programme as chief guest. Party leaders S. Jaipal Reddy, K. Jana Reddy and V. Hanumantha Rao among others attended.
Speaking after receiving the award, Gaddar said, “Eashwari Bai had fought for a separate Telangana state.” 

He said politics these days is without any ideology. He also said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao must take women in his Cabinet.

Speaking at the event, Mr Kharge said, “Eashwari Bai publicised the ideologies and aspirations of Ambedkar. She was not afraid of anyone when she fought for Telangana. She also fought to get the problems of Dalits and tribal people resolved. Now, some people are trying to destroy democracy and we have to protect it.”

Mr Jana Reddy appreciated Geetha Reddy for organising the centenary celebrations. “The way Eashwari Bai represented issues will definitely inspire everyone,” he said.

Mr Jaipal Reddy said, “Eashwari Bai did not know what fear was. I was in the Assembly with her for two terms. She never looked for political benefit and always fought the betterment of the people.:
