DMK extends ticket interview till March 7

To select party candidates by one week as number of aspirants is high.

Chennai: The DMK on Tuesday extended the date for interview to select party candidates by one week as number of aspirants is high.

The interview will be held till March 7 instead of February 27 to avoid large number of candidates and their supporters belonging to many districts thronging the headquarters and waiting outside.

As per the revised schedule announced by party general secretary K. Anbazhagan, interview for Dindigul, Sivaganga and Madurai aspirants would be held on February 24, while the districts of Nilgiris, Erode and Coimbatore would be covered on February 25.  

For Salem, Namakkal and Karur, the candidates could come for interview on February 26 and those belonging to Tiruppur, Pudukottai and Perambalur on February 27.

After a gap of three days from February 29 to March 1, the process will begin on March 2, when interview will be held for the delta districts of Tiruchy, Ariyalur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

On the next day, the process would continue for candidates from Thanjavur, Cuddalore and Villupuram.

For Tiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri, the interview would be held for Vellore and Kanchipuram on March 5. After a gap of one day, candidates from Tiruvallur, Puducherry and Chennai could come for the interview on March 7, Anbazhagan said.
