Search for best schools starts in Ranga Reddy

Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy officials on Tuesday began a survey to pick schools for the BEST — Best in Education, Sanitation and Total development — scheme. Officials launched the survey on Tuesday under the supervision of Ranga Reddy collector  M. Raghunandan Rao. The survey will check 100 aspects in each schools. The proforma is different for zilla parishad, upper primary and primary schools.

An official source said all eandal educational officials would conduct the survey. District education officer G. Ramesh said the survey would check basic facilities in each school along with the reading and writing skills of students, preparation for annual examinations, percentage of attendance, quality of teaching and other aspects,” he said.

Mr Ramesh said that the process of selecting BEST schools would be done in a week. “We will select at least two ZP schools, one UPS and three primary schools from each mandal. We will select 222 schools across the district,” he said. He said the district administration will try to secure ISO certificates to the selected schools. The staff will be recommended for incentives.
