Andhra Pradesh: Leopard dies of thirst, forest teams to probe

Villagers noticed the body of leopard on Wednesday and informed the forest officials.

Anantapur: A leopard was found dead due to scarcity of drinking water in Kotakonda forest area in Rudravaram mandal of Kurnool district. Villagers noticed the body of leopard on Wednesday and informed the forest officials.

DFO Shiva Prasad and his team rushed to the spot and conducted post-mortem on the leopard. Forest official observed the wild cat entered closer to residential area in search of drinking water as the forest lacked water sources. The leopard aged about 2 years, suspected to have died three days ago. A case was registered and the body was buried.
