Army chief calls for vigilance as neighbouring country indulges in proxy war

General Singh said the security environment posed challenges due to its complexity and unpredictability.

Hyderabad: Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh has called for vigilance as the “neighbouring country” was indulging in a proxy war with the help of non-state actors and continueing to accumulate its forces at the borders.  

Speaking at the valedictory function of the higher defence management course at the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad, Gen, Singh said the pace of modernisation of the Indian Army had been accelerated and efforts are being made to replace old and obsolete machinery and equipment.

He said the results will be felt in two to three years. Gen. Singh said the security environment posed challenges due to its complexity and unpredictability.
