Hyderabad: Student jailed for cheating during degree examination
The flying squad frisked the degree student on suspicion and seized a mobile phone concealed within his innergarments.
Hyderabad: A 23-year-old degree student was arrested on Wednesday by Malakpet police for copying during the degree exams held on Tuesday.
Sub-Inspector Mr. N. Ranjit Ranjit Kumar told the press that final-year student Abdul Baqui Khayyum, from Mumtaz College, had backlogs from his first year subjects of Business Law and Financial Accounting. On Tuesday, he appeared for the examination at Saketha Degree College, near Dilsukh Nagar.
The student was found to be using a mobile device and earphones for copying during inspection. The flying squad, during its surprise checks at the college, observed that Khayyum was behaving in a suspicious manner.
The inspectors frisked him and seized a mobile phone concealed within his innergarments. Later, they handed him over to the Malakpet police for further investigation.
Officials said that a case was registered under Section 8 of Prevention of Malpractices Act. Following this, Khayyum was sent to judicial remand for 14 days.
