Kalaburagi: Fire in hospital, 27 babies rescued

Kalaburagi: As many as 27 new-born babies had a miraculous escape after a fire broke out in the Government General Hospital here on Wednesday. Hopsital sources said the fire broke out in the ICU at around 2.30 pm due to a short circuit in the air-conditioner.

The alert staff immediately shifted the babies to the ICUs of various private hospitals nearby. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot. District surgeon Dr Nalini Namoshi said all the babies were safe.
