Visakhapatnam: Earth hour to be observed tomorrow
A walk will also be conducted with the theme 'Walk for Earth Hour'' from Kalimatha temple to Pandurangaswami temple.
Visakhapatnam: As part of Earth Hour initiative, voluntary organisations called upon the denizens of the city to switch off lights on March 25 for one hour from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm voluntarily. A walk will also be conducted with the theme ‘’Walk for Earth Hour’’ from Kalimatha temple to Pandurangaswami temple.
To make the earth hour successful, Bapuji Rural Enlightenment and Deve-lopment Society, Paryavarana Margadarsi Vaisakhi, Green Environment Service Society and National Green Corps jointly conducted several campaigns in educational institutions with the objective “Protect environment and let the future generations live.’
The volunteers of the organisations encouraged the students to come and make the walk a success. Earth Hour is an annual international event organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature. The event encourages households and businesses to turn off their lights and electrical appliances for one hour at the appointed time to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.
