Parents and school authorities should caution their students as they will be writing their examinations soon.
Women and child development director Sheeba George asked Anganwadis to reschedule their working time from 7 am to 12 pm, or 8 am to 1 pm to avoid the extreme heat. Some have closed down because of the harsh weather, resulting in stoppage of the supply of nutritious food to children from financially backward families. The new timings are meant to make sure the distribution of nutritious food goes unhampered, said Ms George.
Besides general precautions, schools taking students on excursions should be mindful in protecting children from high temperatures.
