Cartoons' expo will open tomorrow in Hyderabad
Exhibition will display cartoons collected by IAS official B.P. Acharya in the last 40 years.
Hyderabad: Senior bureaucrat and Telangana’s Special Chief Secretary (planning) B.P. Acharya would showcase the cartoons that he had collected over 40 years on April 25 in the city.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Dr Daphne Rebello, former chief secretary, at Geothe Zentrum, Road No. 3, Banjara Hills at 6.30 pm on Tuesday. The exhibition is organised as part of week-long civil services day celebrations.
The cartoons were showcased at MCRHRDIT on April 21 and the Tuesday exhibition is for the general public. It will be open from on all day from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm till May 2.
Mr Archarya said only general cartoons would be showcased at the exhibition and not political ones.
Mr Acharya is fond of cartoons and had collected several of them in the last four decades.
“We normally see things from in acute angle. But we fail to see the humorous side,” he said.
He said even late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy used to enjoy cartoons published in various newspapers.
He used to enjoy even cartoons which were against him and ctriticised his policies.
