Pondicherry to announce PG medical course fee structure today

Puducherry: After much pressure from student community and political parties, the fees committee in Puducherry met on Tuesday to fix fees for PG medical course in private medical colleges.
According to the sources, the committee headed by retired Judge of Madras high court Justice S. Rajeswaran, has fixed the fee structure in the meeting and is expected to be announced by the Chief Secretariat (Health) late on Wednesday, as May 24 is the last date for joining the colleges.
The candidates who selected for PG medical seats through Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) under government quota was in a limbo as the government continued to delay the announcement of fee structure. As the meeting of the fees committee was delayed, the Chief Secretariat (Health), on May 14, passed an order stating that the fee fixed by the Tamil Nadu Fee Committee may be collected in Puducherry for the PG medical or dental courses for the academic year 2017_18, which was turned down by the private medical colleges.
“We have requested the fee committee chairman to fix the fees as early as possible as the last date for joining the colleges is tomorrow and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
