K Chandrasekhar Rao, Devendra Fadnavis to ink MoU in July

Maharashtra has no objection to construction of Medigadda barrage with a height of 101 metres.

Hyderabad: TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis will sign an MoU with regard to construction of Medigadda, Tummidihatti, Korata-Chanaka barrages in the second week of July.
This was disclosed by TS irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, who flew to Mumbai and met his Maharashtra counterpart Girish Mahajan on Thursday to discuss the MoU.

“It will be a historic accord between the two states. Mr Fadnavis will fix the date and inform us. Maharashtra has no objection to construction of Medigadda barrage with a height of 101 metres. However, water level will be maintained up to 100 metres as suggested by the Maharashtra CM. Talks were successful,” Mr Harish Rao said.

He said Tummidihatti Barrage will have FRL level of 148 metres. Mr Fadnavis was also invited to participate in the Godavari river interstate board Apex Committee meeting to be held in Hyderabad in July. Mr Fadnavis was also requested to fix the date.
