Bhopal: AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh's son Jaivardhan, who is an MLA, today said he was going to raise in Assembly the issue of his and his family members' names figuring in the list of Below Poverty Line (BPL) people.

Digvijaya had raised the issue on Saturday. "It is an attempt to defame our family," Jaivardhan said.

"This is totally unfair to our family which is tax-payee. MP Government is responsible for it as its officials make the BPL list," he said.

"I am going to raise this issue in the ongoing Monsoon session of Assembly, pressing for investigation and action against the concerned officials," he added.

Digvijaya Singh, a former Chief Minister, had claimed on micro-blogging site Twitter that he and his family found their names in the BPL list.

"We have neither applied nor taken any benefit under BPL. This is a conspiracy against me and my family," he tweeted.
