Medical counselling on despite Eamcet-2 probe
Medical counseling will commence from July 25 as per the planned schedule.
Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has decided to go ahead with the work of filling seats at various medical colleges in the state. Accordingly medical counseling will commence from July 25 as per the planned schedule. Doubts had been raised about the counseling schedule in view of the ongoing CID probe into Eamcet-2 leak. However, with no signs of malpractice emerging in the preliminary investigations so far, the government has given a green signal to the Kaloji Health University to carry on with the formalities. Verification of certificates will be done at three centres — Hyderabad, Warangal and Vijayawada from July 25 to 30. For special categories this process will be carried on from July 31 to August 2.
Minister Laxma Reddy chaired a meeting with higher officials in this regard on Saturday. Principal Secretary (Medical and Health), Rajeshwar Tiwari told DC that they are going ahead with the first step of counseling which is verification of certificates, from Monday. CID officials probing the Eamcet-2 leak allegations were unable to find evidence. “Three rankers, against whom fingers were raised, said they had prepared well. When asked about poor performance in a similar test held a few weeks ago, they replied it was due to poor preparations,” a top CID official said. Eleven students from Warangal undertook coaching at a centre in Vijayawada. Out of them three left early before completion of coaching. The three said they wanted sufficient time to go back home to Warangal and then to their test centre in Hyderabad.
