New Delhi: After the Congress JD(S) government failed to win the trust in the Karnataka Assembly the Congress charged the BJP of indulging in “horse trading”. Congress general secretary Incharge of Karnataka K.C. Venugopal said, “BJP has carried out one of the biggest political subversion and hawala transaction to destabilise the coalition government in Karnataka. Video evidences of BJP leaders offering money to the defected MLAs for destabilising the coalition government.”

Attacking the state government of Maharashtra and the governor of Karnataka, he said, “The subversion of coalition government in Karnataka carried out by the BJP is one of the most heinous political horse tradings the country has ever
witnessed. It was done by the nefarious joint efforts of the Central govt, governor, state govt of Maharashtra & BJP leadership.”

The Congress has decided to hold nation wide protests against the immoral political destabilisation carried out by the BJP. The party had raised the issue in the Lok Sabha too a few days back to which the BJP replied that it had no role in the defections in the state but it was the coalition that was imploding in the state. Several MLAs were taken to Mumbai where they were being kept senior Congress leader from Karnataka had also visited Mumbai wanting to speak to the MLAs but he was not allowed entry into the hotel where the MLAs were being put up.

Applauding the role of the party MLAs who remained within the Congress fold Mr. Venugopal said, "All MLAs who stood with the party and workers who fought for upholding political morality in the state deserve a huge respect.  Although BJP could get an upper hand in the legislative assembly in terms of the number of MLAs, the Congress-JD(S) had earned the moral victory"
