Service records of governmentt staff will be digitised: Tenkasi S Jawahar
Digitization of the SR would prevent such irregularities and the employees can regularly have an access to it, said Jawahar.
Madurai: For the first time in the country, the Service Record (SR) of the Tamil Nadu state government employees will be digitised and easily made accessible to them.
The employees can check the content of the SR on their mobile phone, said Tenkasi S Jawahar, principal secretary, Commissioner of Treasuries and Accounts, Government of Tamil Nadu, who has launched this initiative.
Addressing the government employees on ‘Digitizing Service Records’ at the conference hall in Madurai Medical College, Jawahar said that in the name of maintaining secrecy of SR of employees, many irregularities like tampering of records have happened in the past. Moreover, staff were denied access to see the SR, he said.
Digitization of the SR would prevent such irregularities and the employees can regularly have an access to it, said Jawahar.
The employees from all the government departments have participated in the meeting. After examining the progress each department has made in submitting the employees’ SR for digitization to the Treasury department, he outlined three procedures to be followed by employees for digitizing their SR.
The Madurai district collector Veera Raghava Rao and Madurai SP, N Manivannan also participated in the meeting.
