Activist Valarmathi detained at Chennai Central

Chennai: Law graduate and activist Valarmathi collecting donations for Kerala in Chennai Central was on Thursday detained by Periamet police.

The arrest was made in the evening when she along with others was receiving donations from passengers at Chennai Central. Periamet police confirmed her detention, but did not disclose the sections she has been booked under. 

In June, Salem police arrested Valarmathi, a student activist on the charges of opposing proposed Salem-Chennai ‘green corridor’ project.
