Chennai among eight districts to get new collectors

Chennai: In a major reshuffle of IAS officials, the state government had issued orders transferring 28 bureaucrats on Thursday.

According to the chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan’s order, A. Shanmugasundaram has been posted as the collector of Chennai district and J. Jayakanthan has been posted as Sivaganga district collector. S. Natarajan, C. Kathiravan, V. Anbuselvan, K. Veera Raghava Rao, S. Prabhakar and Mageswari Ravikumar have been posted as collectors of Madurai, Erode, Cuddalore, Ramanathapuram, Krishnagiri and Tiruvallur districts respectively.

Meanwhile, both the school and higher education department had undergone a major change as the school education department secretary (Curriculum) T. Udhayachandran has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Archaeology. Likewise, higher education department secretary Sunil Paliwal has been posted as principal secretary of labour and employment department. Mangat Ram Sharma has been appointed as new higher education secretary.

Shambhu Kallolikar has been posted as principal secretary of the environment of forests department. He would also be in full additional charge of Tamil Nadu pollution control board as its chairman. Ashok Dongre is the new managing director of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. J.U. Chandrakala has been appointed as executive director of Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Ltd.

D. Karthikeyan, Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation has given full additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.
