24-hour vigil on in Nilgiris

OOTY: In wake of the alert given by the intelligence agencies on theintrusion of terrorist elements into neighbouring Coimbatore, the cops here have stepped up security and intensified round the clock vehicle checks.

Police have zeroed in on 16 check-posts in Nilgiris-border, with deployment of extra men. Every vehicle entering the hills is checked and tourist spots like botanical garden on guard with more pickets.
