Clash between BRS and BJP workers in Hanumakonda, many injured

WARANGAL: High tension prevailed here as BJP and BRS party leaders and workers clashed with each other when the BJP leaders tried to lay siege to the MLA camp office of Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar at Balasamudram in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

As BJP state chief G.Kishan Reddy asked party workers to lay siege the MLC camp offices demanding the state government to distribute 2 BHK houses to poor families, the BJP leaders led by A.Rakesh Redy reached the MLA camp office.

Large number of police personnel were deployed to prevent the BJP workers entering the area. The police closed both entries of the MLC camp office. When the BJP leaders tried to enter the premises of the MLA camp office, BRS party activists pelted stones at them and attacked them with sticks. During the commotion, several leaders were injured.

Police personnel lathi-charged the party workers and leaders to disburse the mob.

In protest against the police action, BJP workers led by Rakesh Reddy staged a sit-in protest on the road. Later, to bring the situation under control, the police officials forcibly arrested the BJP leaders and shifted them to the Subedari police station in Hanamkonda.

Earlier in the morning the police officials arrested the BJP district president Rao Padma. When Padma along with other BJP leaders were arrested while they were preparing to take out a rally to the MLA camp office.
