Allies' seat sharing talks yet to gain momentum
Each party will prepare a list of strong contenders amongst them and later the leaders of allies of the alliance will sit and prepare the final list.
Hyderabad: While Assembly elections are coming closer, seat adjustment among the allies of the Grand Alliance is happening at a slow pace. The allies of Grand Alliance are identifying the constituencies where they are strong. Each party will prepare a list of strong contenders amongst them and later the leaders of allies of the alliance will sit and prepare the final list.
The main problem will come in the adjustment of seats. The parties of the alliance have to sacrifice some seats in the adjustment. But whether the parties are readying themselves for that or not will be known later. Telugu Desam and Telangana Jana Samithi are expecting more seats but the Congress is not willing to give seats as proposed by other parties in the grand alliance.
The TD is expecting to win a minimum of 15 seats, while the Congress is willing to give 10 seats. In the Hyderabad district the TD is expecting Sanathnagar, Jubilee Hills, Khairatabad and Secunderabad Cantonment. Among these four constituencies TD won three seats except Khairahabad in 2014 Assembly elections. But all the three TD MLAs have joined the TRS in the post election scenario. Congress wants to give only two seats among these four seats.
In Ranga Reddy district, the TD is expecting 7 seats and Congress wants to give two or three seats. In the previous elections, CPI had won only one Assembly seat in Telangana from Devarakonda and later he joined the TRS. In the seats adjustment the CPI is expecting minimum 5 to 8 seats but Congress may give two or three seats. Regarding Telangana Jana Samiti, it is expecting 20 seats but Congress wants less than 10 seats.
The outer limit of Congress party is 29 seats. Telangana TD president Mr. L Ramana said that the allies of the Grand Alliance are identifying the strong seats of each party. He added that it was not a question of the number of shared seats.
