Hyderabad: Person falls into drain during procession, dies

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old  man died after he accidentally fell into the drain while dancing during the Ganesh nimmajan procession  late on Saturday night.

The police identified the victim as Venkataiah, a farmer hailing from Yedapally village in Mahbubnagar.

According to the police, when the Ganesh nimmajan procession was going on, the victim was dancing in a joyful mood. He suddenly lost balance and fell inside a roadside drain, resulting in severe head injury. The locals shifted him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The police have registered a case and an investigation is on.
