4 Supreme Court judges take oath, its strength reaches 34
Justice Murari, Justice Bhat, Justice Rama-subramanian and Justice Roy were administered oath by the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
New Delhi: With the swearing in of Justice Krishna Murari, Justice S. Ravindra Bhat, Justice V. Ramasu-bramanian, and Justice Hrishikesh Roy on Monday, the Supreme Court got four new judges and its strength going upto 34 judges — the sanctioned strength.
Justice Murari, Justice Bhat, Justice Rama-subramanian and Justice Roy were administered oath by the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
After the swearing in, Justice Murari was seated in the bench headed by Justice N.V.Ramana in court number three, Justice Bhat was seated in the bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra in court number four.
Justice Ramasubra-manian sat in court number five in the bench headed by Justice Rohintoin Fali Nariman and Justice Roy sat in the court number six presided over by Justice R. Banumathi.
Prior to their elevation to Supreme Court, Justice Murari was the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
