Warangal: Teachers play an important role in the life of students by teaching them what is right and wrong and shaping their future, said DCC president Naini Rajendar Reddy.

Rajendar Reddy was the chief guest at an event to distribute the best teacher award, organised by the Telangana All Private Teachers’ Association (TAPTA) at the press club in Balasamudram in Hanamkonda on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that after parents, teachers play a valuable role in society. Teachers have a great responsibility to shape students into good citizens of the country.

“It is not easy to excel in the teaching profession as it requires many skills. By getting rid of students’ fears, a teacher helps them build self-confidence and moulds them to become better persons. Apart from imparting education, teachers also educate students on how to lead their lives with morals and discipline, which is why they are honoured in society” he said.

Later, he distributed the best teacher awards and appreciation certificates to the teachers of private educational institutions.

TAPTA president Chander Lal Naik, corporator T. Venkateshwarlu, INTUC district president K. Venkat, assistant professors T. Sheshu, Ch. Mallikarjun Rao, retired principal G. Venkatnarayana, and B. Prabhakar were among those present.
