BENGALURU: The city votes and registers its protest against the steel bridge. In all, 41,848 citizens have registered their 'no' to the flyover. Announcing the results on Sunday, actor and founding-member of Citizens Against Steel Flyover Prakash Belawadi said, “The BDA's two-day window for online feedback on the flyover got only 299 votes in its favour. In the same two days’ time, our volunteers collected 41,848 votes against it. This number itself is enough to reflect the opposition to the bridge from Bengalureans."

Among the total votes collected, 10,204 were exclusively polled from Bengaluru North. “A few hundred residents of North came to the street, saying they needed the steel bridge. But the votes collected from the same region show that residents of North too don't want the project and the ‘flyover beku’ protest was politically motivated," he said.
