Muthappa Rai video: Police slap case against private security firm
Inquiries revealed that Vasanth neither had the required licence for his agency nor had he entered into an agreement.
Bengaluru: Cottonpet police registered a case against a private security firm owner for providing armed security cover to former underworld operative Muthappa Rai.
The police acted on a complaint filed by Mr Murugendraiah, Inspector, Organised Crime Wing, City Crime Branch, at Cottonpet police station against K. Vasanth Poovaiah, owner of Black Cat Security and Services, and seven others for violating the Private Security Regulation Act.
The CCB summoned Rai and filed a complaint after a video of Rai and his family performing puja to a cache of firearms and lethal weapons on Ayodha Puja went viral. Police summoned Vasanth for questioning onSaturday.
Inquiries revealed that Vasanth neither had the required licence for his agency nor had he entered into an agreement with Rai to provide armed security.
Apart from Vasanth, the seven others, including four security guards, have been booked under various sections of the Private Security Regulation Act.
Though the CCB did not file a case against Rai, it warned him sternly against indulging in such acts.
