Post Dasara festivities, Golden throne returns to strong room

Mysuru: The 800 year old  gem studded golden throne weighing 280 kgs which was taken out of the strong room of Mysuru Palace Board on September 24 for the Dasara festivities of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, was  kept back on Wednesday and will remain there till next year’s festivities.

The throne was dismantled in the presence of Rajmata  Ms Pramoda Devi Wadiyar amid high security with ACP Mr Chandrashekar and Palace Board Deputy Director Mr T.S. Subramanya also present.

Scion of the royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, held a private darbar as part of the royal family traditions, at the Darbar hall of Mysuru palace on September 29, the first day of Dasara.
