Kochi: Wife of the murdered photographer Benny has moved Kerala High Court seeking CBI probe. She says there were allegations that either Thunderbolt or Maoists attacked Mr Benny but the police investigation is yet to reach a conclusion.

Mr Benny was murdered on Feb 13, 2015. Agali police registered Crime No. 91/2015 for the offence punishable under S. 302 (murder) IPC and started probing the case. The petitioner argued that till now nothing done effectively by the local police.

"There is grave inaction on the part of the local police in investigating the crime.  The local police are not conducting the investigation properly. It is dragging on indefinitely with the intention of closing the same. The local police without any basis is saying that Thunderbolt or Maoists committed the crime. Unless the investigation is entrusted with any special branch like Crime Branch, CBI or any Special Team of efficient officers, there is every possibility of the local police damaging the entire case," she says.

The petitioner was under the impression that the police will seriously investigate the crime and will bring the real culprits before the law. The petitioner argued that she had sent representations to the state police chief, district collector and the district police chief requesting an effective and creative investigation.
