Hyderabad Collector Dr Yogita Rana made a surprise visit to various health centers.
Hyderabad: On Thursday, Hyderabad Collector Dr Yogita Rana made a surprise visit to various health centers in the city and flayed the medical staff for negligence in the maintenance of records and registers. While visiting the 24x7 community health center in Lalapet, she questioned the staff and doctors on why they had not installed display boards with the lab test details, stock-list of medicines and the list of attending staff. The Collector expressed her dissatisfaction over the maintenance of attendance registers of ANC and OPD.
She asked doctors to maintain the summary reports of patients with the directive that only doctors should write in OPD registers. While interacting with the patients, one patient told the Collector that the staff had asked him to purchase Paracetamol from outside. Responding to this complaint, the Collector reprimanded the staff for not maintaining the stock of even essential medicine.
“Why don’t you send an indent to the managing director of TS Medical and Infrastructure Development Corporation? When the health centre has all the amenities, don’t send patients to private labs for tests. You should do all the tests here,” she said. Ms Rana directed the staff to increase the number of out-patients from 60 to 200 per day by holding awareness programmes in slum areas and colonies. She also directed the district medical and health officer to conduct surprise visits in at least two primary health centers per day. and follow it up by sending the reports to her.
