APSSDC to offer skill training to 30,000 youth
APSSDC participated in the 8th Global Summit on Skill Development organised by CII at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow.
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) entered into MoUs with three companies, Ola, Adobe and ArchiBus, to provide employment-oriented skill training to 30,000 youth in the state.
APSSDC participated in the 8th Global Summit on Skill Development organised by CII at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. Switzerland is the country partner for this event while AP is the ‘emerging state partner’. Representatives from industry, skill training agencies, vocational education providers from various countries participated in the programme.
The APSSDC team headed by K. Sambasiva Rao, MD &CEO held extensive discussions with the heads of reputed skilling agencies/ vocational training providers from Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, UAE and Japan in order to work out robust partnerships for setting up world-class skill development training centres in AP.
As part of this exercise, the MD&CEO, APSSDC, held discussions with Mr. Mauro Dell’ Ambrogio, Secretary of State for Education, Research and Innovation, Government of Switzerland, Dr. Andreas Baum, Ambassador of Switzerland in India and Erik Swars, Head of International Relations, Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET).
The Swiss delegation has been appraised of the priority accorded by the AP government for developing world-class skilling ecosystem in AP in collaboration with international partners.
Both the teams have identified construction, healthcare, automotive, pharmaceutical, financial and logistics sectors as the possible areas where the Swiss agencies could partner with APSSDC in developing global standard skilling centres in AP, in the near future.
Mr. Dev Mohanty, chairman, ASMACS Engineering from UAE, has come forward to set up high-end skill training centres in the construction sector, job roles to meet the demand for skilled labour in UAE.
M/S Nihon Technology Private Limited, who operates in Japan as manpower support agency, has agreed to sponsor candidates from AP to Japan in association with APSSDC under the Technical Internship Training Program (TITP) of the Government of India.
