CPI: N Chandrababu Naidu ignoring corruption
Mr Ramakrishna alleged that there was no limit to the corrupt practices of the TD legislators and leaders.
VIJAYAWADA: CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna on Friday alleged that corruption has increased dramatically in AP as the Telugu Desam leadership remained blind to graft and irregularities by the party leaders.
Launching the CPI Samara Bheri tour at Kothapeta in Vijayawada on Friday, Mr Ramakrishna alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has completely failed to curb corruption and irregularities by TD leaders over the past four years.
He said that Mr Naidu has forgotten to take care of Rayalaseema and North Andhra regions. “Despite living in Vijayawada, Naidu has failed to develop the city too,” he said.
Mr Ramakrishna alleged that there was no limit to the corrupt practices of the TD legislators and leaders. “They have fixed a price on every project, big or small. A TD MLA is grabbing lands of poor in the city. Naidu has killed democratic spirit by refusing to conduct panchayat elections,” he said.
He said, “It’s ridiculous that Naidu is touring the country calling for protection of democracy after murdering the democracy in the state. Purchasing 23 MLAs of the opposition YSR Congress and offering Cabinet berths to four of them is a shameful act. The fact remains that there is no democracy in AP,” Mr Ramakrishna said.
Promising to continue fighting for issues of public interest, he said that CPI will conduct the padayatra for the next 25 days and listen to people’s grievances.
CPI Krishna district secretary A. Vanaja recalled that Communist parties had provide and able administration and had developed Vijayawada city during their rule.
CPI city secretary D. Sankar asked the public to bring their issues to the notice of the party during the padayatra.
