Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state leadership meet has decided to intensify the campaign on Sabarimala issue.

Apart from Assembly segment jathaas, the party has called for continuing house to house visits to directly connect with individuals and convey party and government’s stand on the Suprme Court verdict. The CPM leadership also decided to convene LDF state committee meeting to finalise the future strategy on Sabarimala.

The party believes that the recent developments involving BJP leader K Surendran and Hindu Aikya Vedi president K P Sasikala had exposed the Sangh Parivar agenda to foment trouble in Sabarimala. The CPM leaders said the initial momentum gained by Sangh Parivar on Sabarimala issue was gradually weakening because of the violence unleashed by their workers.

The party is of the opinion that people have started to draw a clear distinction between the real devotees and the Sangh Parivar activists masquerading as devotees and creating trouble in the hill shrine.

CPM feels that this is the right time to campaign hard to expose the Sangh Parivar. Besides, the party also wants the government to put in place adequate facilities for devotees to wean them away from the Sangh propoganda.

The LDF meeting to be convened soon will take a decision on coordinated campaign. While the CPM house visits, Assembly segment jathas and  mass contact programmes are continuing, the CPI has decided to organise family meetings at the local level from December 1.

Besides, the CPM’s front organisations SFI,DYFI, AIDWA are also holding parallel campaigns to create awareness about the government's stand on the Sabarimala issue and to expose the alleged ulterior designs of Sangh Parivar to capture Sabarimala shrine.

The party is hopeful of convincing the people about the Sangh Parivar desgins to polarise the state on religious lines.
