Vijaywada: Welfare schemes for all eligible persons assured

VIJAYAWADA: Minister for IT and panchayatraj, N. Lokesh, said the Telugu Desam government was giving preference to the development of the Palnadu region of Guntur district by implementing welfare and development schemes for all eligible people.
He refuted the allegations of the Opposition parties and claimed that only the TD was capable of serving all communities. He visited Guntur district and participated in various programmes, addressed Grama Darsini meetings and held a public meeting on Friday night at Piduguralla.
Mr Lokesh predicted that AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would again win the coming general elections and would be the key person to lead politics at the Centre.
He announced that the government had sanctioned Rs 600 crore for the establishment of water grids to resolve the scarcity of drinking water in the Palnadu region. He said the government would invite tenders for the water grid projects in the coming days and would provide water tap connections to everyone below the poverty line in the Palnadu region.
He said the government had disbursed Rs 24,000 crore under the agriculture loan waiver scheme for farmers to support farming in the state.
