Wakf Board petitions GHMC on land-grab

Hyderabad: The TS Wakf Board has urged the GHMC commissioner to cancel the building permit granted to one Zaheer Khan in respect of a Wakf property at Narayanguda.

Under directions from board chairman Mohammed Saleem, its CEO Abdul Hameed has written to the civic body stating that the Sir Nizamat Jung, Madina Mansion, Madi-na Bagh, Sakeena Manzil, Faqeer Bagh, Zamima Madina Sarai, inside Madina Mansion, Narayanguda, is a registered and notified wakf property published in AP Gazette. There are different properties to an extent of 10,000 square yards, the missive says.

The board chairman received information about the ongoing construction on the Wakf property bearing Municipal No. 3-5-1099 on an extent of 926 square yards by one Zaheer Mohammed Khan. He immediately sent a team of board’s officials, who reported that construction activities were underway and the said person had succeeded in obtaining permission for construction of a building from GHMC.

Mr Saleem said stern action will be taken against the encroachments.
