HYDERABAD: The endowments department of Andhra Pradesh has issued a circular barring temples from spending money to decorate on January 1. The TTD however, stated that they were yet to receive any instruction.
Due to continuous holidays for the next few days until Vaikunta Ekadasi on December 29 and Dwadasi on December 30, the temple will witness rush and arrangements and decorations are being planned accordingly. Although TTD is an independent trust, it still falls under the endowments department, officials said, stating that department has to issue a separate order for it.
It may be noted that a large number of people from Hyderabad and TS make it a point to visit Tirumala and seek blessings Lord Balaji on January 1.
Praveen Goud of Orange Travels which operates three luxury buses to Tirupati daily from Hyderabad said that bookings have been made a month in advance.
There is no clarity on the government decision as far as TTD is concerned and hence there are no cancellations as of now.
