Souvenir coins at parks for Hyderabad promotion
The official said that after finalising the designs and metal to be used they would be given for pricing in a week.
HYDERABAD: In order to promote the brand image of the city, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to sell souvenir coins at major parks including NTR Garden, Sanjeevaiah Park and Lumbini Park. The coins will be embossed with the National Flag on one side and the HMDA logo on the other. The coins are expected to be available from January 26.
According to an HMDA official, the proposal was cleared by HMDA commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy and it would be finalised in a couple of days after discussing it with the Government Mint based in Hyderabad or any other private agency. The proposed cost for each souvenir will be Rs 100 and it would be available either at the ticker counters or a separate store.
The HMDA official said that the making of the souvenir coins would only increase the brand image of Hyderabad but it was meant for profit-making. He said souvenir coins would provide a memorable experience for visitors, especially foreigners.
